Ferrari Fans Turn on Hamilton as Calls Grow for Shock F1 Exit

Pressure is rapidly mounting on Lewis Hamilton after sections of the Scuderia Ferrari fanbase reportedly began demanding the seven-time world champion be removed from the team following another frustrating run of results in the 2026 Formula 1 season.

Hamilton’s blockbuster move to Ferrari was initially hailed as one of the most iconic transfers in motorsport history, with expectations soaring that the British superstar would finally deliver the Italian giants their long-awaited return to championship glory. However, the partnership has struggled to consistently challenge at the very front of the grid, fueling growing unrest among supporters.

Despite showing flashes of competitiveness this season — including a podium finish at the Chinese Grand Prix — Ferrari’s campaign has repeatedly been undermined by inconsistency, strategic errors, and disappointing race pace compared to rivals Mercedes and McLaren.

The frustration intensified after the Miami Grand Prix, where Hamilton endured another difficult afternoon following early contact that damaged his Ferrari and left him battling outside podium contention. While the Briton eventually finished sixth after post-race penalties reshuffled the order, many Ferrari supporters were left unconvinced by the team’s overall progress.

Social media reaction in recent weeks has become increasingly hostile, with some fans questioning whether Ferrari made the right decision in signing Hamilton at the later stage of his career instead of building fully around teammate Charles Leclerc.

Critics have pointed to Hamilton’s difficult adaptation to Ferrari machinery since arriving from Mercedes, while comparisons with Leclerc’s pace have only intensified scrutiny around the 41-year-old champion. Statistical analysis from Hamilton’s debut Ferrari campaign already highlighted several concerning trends, including qualifying struggles and inconsistent race performances relative to his teammate.

Some angry supporters have even called for Ferrari management to make an immediate driver change if results fail to improve before the middle of the season — an extraordinary development considering Hamilton’s legendary status within Formula 1.

However, many within the paddock continue to defend the British driver, arguing Ferrari’s broader structural issues remain the real problem. Hamilton himself recently hit back at critics, insisting he still possesses the speed and determination required to compete at the front of the grid.

Ferrari team principal Frédéric Vasseur has also publicly backed Hamilton throughout the difficult period, maintaining that the team remains committed to its long-term project despite the mounting external pressure.

With Formula 1’s “silly season” approaching and speculation already growing over Hamilton’s future, the tension surrounding Ferrari’s most high-profile signing in decades appears far from over.
