F1 Miami Grand Prix 2026 Results: Final Classification After Late Penalties Applied

The final classification of the 2026 Miami Grand Prix has now been officially confirmed by the FIA, following a dramatic and incident-filled race at the Hard Rock Stadium.

Antonelli Continues Dominance

Kimi Antonelli extended his remarkable start to the season by converting his third consecutive pole position into a third straight victory. The Mercedes driver once again demonstrated composure under pressure, fending off an early and sustained challenge from Lando Norris.

Norris, driving for McLaren, pushed hard throughout the race and secured second place, finishing just over three seconds behind the leader. His team-mate, Oscar Piastri, completed the podium in third, though he trailed significantly after losing time during the middle stint.

With this result, Antonelli further strengthens his lead in the Drivers’ Championship, emerging as the early dominant force of the 2026 season.

Strong Performances Behind the Podium

George Russell ensured a strong double points finish for Mercedes by taking fourth place, continuing his consistent run of form.

Defending world champion Max Verstappen crossed the line in fifth for Red Bull Racing. Although he received a five-second time penalty for crossing the white line at pit exit, the gap behind him meant his finishing position remained unchanged.

Ferrari Drama and Penalties Shake Up Order

There was significant post-race reshuffling involving Ferrari. Charles Leclerc initially finished sixth on the road but was handed a 20-second time penalty after the race. This dropped him down to eighth in the final classification.

The penalty promoted his team-mate Lewis Hamilton to sixth place, marking a solid recovery drive. Meanwhile, Franco Colapinto capitalized on the chaos to secure seventh for Alpine.

Williams Double Points Finish

Both Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon delivered a strong result for Williams, finishing ninth and tenth respectively to bring home valuable points for the team.
