Max Verstappen Nürburgring Results: NLS Qualifying and Grid Line-Up
Four-time Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen returns to action at the iconic Nürburgring today (Saturday, April 18) as he competes in qualifying for the NLS4 round of the ADAC 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers.
With the recent cancellation of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix freeing up his schedule, Verstappen is now able to fully commit to this weekend’s endurance racing programme in Germany. The Dutchman will contest both NLS4 on Saturday and NLS5 on Sunday, in addition to participating in Top Qualifying ahead of May’s prestigious Nürburgring 24 Hours.
Saturday morning’s qualifying session, scheduled for 08:30 local time (07:30 BST), will determine the starting grid for the four-hour NLS4 race later in the day. Verstappen will once again share driving duties with Austrian racer Lucas Auer as part of his continued preparations for his 24-hour race debut.
The pair will compete in the highly competitive GT3 category aboard the Mercedes-AMG GT3, representing Verstappen’s own racing outfit. The qualifying session is expected to be fiercely contested, with teams seeking optimal track conditions on the demanding Nordschleife circuit — renowned for its length, technical complexity, and ever-changing weather.
Verstappen arrives at NLS4 with recent Nürburgring experience under his belt. During the NLS2 round earlier this season, his team secured pole position and crossed the finish line first on the road in dominant fashion. However, that victory was later nullified after the car was disqualified for exceeding the permitted tyre allocation. Despite the setback, the performance demonstrated the team’s competitiveness and Verstappen’s rapid adaptation to GT3 machinery.
This weekend provides another opportunity for Verstappen and Auer to showcase their pace and consistency in endurance racing conditions. With the ADAC 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers serving as a critical preparatory event, every session carries added importance ahead of the marquee 24-hour race in May.
The final classification from NLS4 qualifying will determine the official grid order for Saturday’s race. Results will be confirmed once the session concludes and stewards complete any necessary post-session checks.
As anticipation builds, motorsport fans will be closely watching to see whether Verstappen can convert his evident speed into a front-row starting position and strengthen his credentials ahead of one of the most demanding endurance challenges in global motorsport.
