Newcastle United star ruled out for a month – will miss Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest & Tottenham Hotspur

Newcastle United will be without Fabian Schär for their next three Premier League matches after their appeal against his red card was rejected by the FA. Schär was sent off during Newcastle’s 1-0 victory over Southampton after an altercation with Ben Brereton Diaz, where the Swiss international reacted to being barged by Diaz and squared up to him. Despite appealing the decision, the FA upheld the red card, ruling Schär out of games against AFC Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest, and Tottenham Hotspur.

As a result, Emil Krafth is expected to fill in alongside Dan Burn in central defense. Meanwhile, Newcastle are working to finalize a club-record transfer for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi before the summer transfer window closes. Eddie Howe’s side will look to build on their recent win as they face Bournemouth in their first away trip of the season, aiming to secure back-to-back victories.
