Charles Leclerc brings in private experts to address Ferrari issues
Scuderia Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc has reportedly taken matters into his own hands by assembling a personal team of specialists to investigate persistent performance limitations affecting the team’s 2026 car.
Although Ferrari have made clear progress this season—finishing on the podium in every race so far—the SF-26 is still believed to be lacking in key areas compared to rivals such as Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team.
Technical weaknesses still evident
Initial analysis suggests Ferrari’s power unit does not match the output of its competitors, while problems with energy deployment on straights continue to compromise overall speed and efficiency.
In response, Leclerc has reportedly turned to external consultants to independently review performance data, with a focus on refining software systems and improving energy management.
A move driven by determination
Italian analyst Federico Albano claims the initiative is separate from Ferrari’s internal structure.
“From what I understand, he has created a dedicated group to analyse data in depth. This is not Ferrari personnel, but individuals from his own circle,” Albano explained.
The decision highlights Leclerc’s strong desire to extract maximum performance, especially as he looks to compete at the highest level alongside drivers like Lewis Hamilton.
Focused on championship success
While Ferrari’s upward trajectory is clear, Leclerc’s independent effort reflects both urgency and ambition. His hands-on approach signals a driver unwilling to settle, reinforcing belief that he has the capability to fight for—and potentially secure—a future world title.
