Glasgow Rangers have just four Premiership matches left in the 2023/24 campaign, and they must win all of them while hoping for Celtic to stumble along the way.
The final Old Firm clash will be held at Parkhead, presenting a tough challenge for the Light Blues. However, it is evident that Philippe Clement will motivate his team to give their all.
The first crucial match for the Light Blues will be against Kilmarnock at Ibrox this Sunday afternoon.
In his pre-match press conference on Friday, Clement provided an injury update. Unfortunately, Oscar Cortes and Danilo are out for the rest of the season, and Connor Goldson sustained an injury in training, ruling him out as well.
On a positive note, Ridvan Yilmaz might make a return to the starting XI on Sunday, according to Clement.
Considering this information, let’s take a look at the potential starting XI for the upcoming match at Ibrox:
1. GK – Jack Butland
Jack Butland recently received the Men’s Player’s Player of the Year and Men’s Player of the Year awards, highlighting his importance to the team this season.
Throughout 53 appearances in all competitions, Butland has kept 25 clean sheets and conceded 44 goals. A few more clean sheets in the remaining matches could greatly benefit the club.
2. RB – James Tavernier
Despite five games remaining in the season, Tavernier has already secured the Sam English bowl for being the club’s top scorer.
With 24 goals to his name this season, Tavernier has achieved his highest goal tally in a single campaign.
3. CB – John Souttar
Having featured in every Premiership match of 2024 so far, Souttar will continue in the starting XI for the final five games due to Goldson’s injury.
After a challenging debut season in Glasgow marred by injuries, Souttar has shown resilience and consistency.
