BREAKING NEWS: Scottish teen ranked in top 50 youngsters in the world as Nxgn list revealed

Scottish youngster Ben Doak has been ranked among the top 50 best wonderkids in the world for the second year in a row

The NXGN list is drawn up each year and celebrates the top talent around the globe, picking out the pick of the bunch of those aged 19 or under at the turn of this year. GOAL have just released their list for this year and the Liverpool winger has been ranked at number 39.

Leeds United’s Archie Gray, who was born in England but can play for Scotland through his footballing family, is a few places below Doak at 43. Doak was included in the list year too after breaking into the fringes of the Liverpool team having quit Celtic shortly after turning 16.He was handed chances in cup competitions and in Europe early this campaign as well as a cameo in the Premier League. He likely would have featured more if not for a a knee injury requiring surgery after being suffered in December.

Reds fans have liked what they’ve seen and are expecting big things of the Scotland under-21s man. There were also calls for him to be propelled into Steve Clarke’s full squad before the injury.

Doak is in good company with stars of Real Madrid and Barcelona making the list while Jude Bellingham’s younger brother Jobe sneaks in at 50. Fellow Englishman Jack Hinshelwood (Brighton) and Lewis Miley (Newcastle), Kobbie Mainoo (Manchester United) are in there too.

The list is tipped by Barcelona’s 16-year-old starlet Lamine Yamal while Endrick, who has already agreed a €60m transfer to Real Madrid from Palmeiras comes in second.
