EXCLUSSIVE: “The way the club was under Marcus Evans..” – Claim made regarding Ipswich Town’s owners

Ipswich Town fan pundit Henry has heaped praise on the owners at Portman Road.

Ipswich Town’s progress in recent years has been nothing short of spectacular, and they will hope that continues as they push for promotion to the Premier League.

Ipswich Town aiming Premier League comeback

After years of languishing in the Championship, the Tractor Boys reached a new low point in their modern history when they were relegated to League One in 2019.

Even in the third tier, Ipswich were failing to mount a meaningful challenge for promotion, but things started to change in April 2021 when Gamechangers Ltd completed their ownership of the Suffolk outfit.

Kieran McKenna for Ipswich Town

Since then, it’s been a great period for those linked to the club, with the new owners making the inspired move to bring Kieran McKenna in as head coach.

The former Manchester United coach has adapted to his first senior post with ease, as the club achieved promotion to the Championship in his first full season in charge, playing some wonderful football in the process.

That has continued in the second division, and there’s a very real potential that Ipswich will make it back-to-back promotions.

Championship Table (As it stands March 26th)
Team P GD Pts
1 Leeds United 38 42 82
2 Leicester City 37 41 82
3 Ipswich Town 38 31 81
4 Southampton 36 26 73

A positive season for Ipswich Town.

“There is genuinely no complaint, let’s just hope it stays around because good owners are quite hard to come by, so if anything happens with them, I hope the club is in a position to keep investing and moving forward.

“But, at the moment, I really don’t think there’s anything else they could’ve done better. Players, managers, staff, stadium, infrastructure, and then plans going forward, they’re all wonderful, so 10 out of 10.”
