Doctor: Rangers player to miss training until end of April with potential Grade 3 hamstring tear

Rangers attacker Zak Lovelace is expected to be ruled out of first-team training until the end of April, according to Dr Rajpal Brar. The injury expert claims that due to the 18-year-old’s hamstring tear sustained in the first week of March, he is expected to be out for two months It is understood to potentially be a Grade 3 tear and if it’s not, the club could be conservative with how they handle the injury. Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said: “This sounds like a Grade 3 out of 4 hamstring tear or a lower grade tear and they’re being conservative with his timetable due to previous injuries in the same area.

“The timeline given is around 2 months so I would expect him to start with lower level strength and mobility work. “Then he will progress gradually to higher intensity sport-specific work and finally to individual training and then team training by the end of April or the start of May.” In October, it was his hamstring again that kept him out for a number of months and he had recently returned to B Team action.
