Exclusive: Rangers plot striker signing after Ibrox source’s £20m reveal

Rangers prioritise 'top' striker even if Fabio Silva stays - Sources

Rangers will focus on signing a new striker this summer, even if Fabio Silva signs permanently, according to Football Insider.

According to reliable sources, the Gers prioritise acquiring “two top forwards” for the upcoming season.

Their summer budget will be determined by their ability to qualify for the Champions League, which is likely to increase their transfer budget by £20 million.

According to Football Insider (9 March), the club is considering making Silva’s loan move from Wolves permanent over the off-season, however this is contingent on Champions League qualification.

Rangers seek two “top” strikers for the next season.

Rangers intend to be busy in the summer transfer window, with manager Philippe Clement anxious to upgrade his squad after an impressive first five months in command.

Silva’s move from Wolves did not contain a buy option, which means Rangers will have to negotiate a fee if they want to sign him permanently.

Rangers plans to upgrade three positions for the upcoming season, according to Football Insider (13 March): left-back, central midfielder, and striker.

Kemar Roofe, a striker, is anticipated to leave the club at the end of the season. According to sources, the club does not plan to extend his contract and he will become a free agent.
