Rangers manager Philippe Clement: “We need to play above our level.”

Philippe Clement Warns Rangers Of Level Needed vs Benfica

Philippe Clement has urged that his Rangers players must perform to their full potential against Benfica on Thursday night in order to advance to the Europa League quarterfinals.

Rangers walked away from Portugal with a 2-2 draw against Benfica in the first leg of their Europa League last-16 tie.

The Glasgow giants’ European form at Ibrox suggests that they have a good chance of beating Benfica and reaching the Europa League quarter-finals.

Clement revealed that Todd Cantwell has returned to the squad after missing the last five games due to a hamstring issue.

The Rangers manager is conscious of the enormity of the challenge at hand, admitting that his squad would have to play above their level to defeat Benfica at Ibrox on Thursday night and advance to the Europa League.

During a news conference, the Belgian stated, “We have some players returning, including Todd Cantwell.”

“My players are prepared; the hunger is there. We understand that we must play above our skill level in order to qualify.

“We will give everything.”

Rangers have taken some major scalps in the Europa League in recent years, and they will try to add Benfica to that list this week.
