According to insiders who spoke with Football Insider, the Rangers recruitment staff has identified three spots that require improvement during the summer transfer season. In preparation for the 2024–25 campaign, the Ibrox club is looking to add a new striker, central midfielder, and left back to their roster. This summer window will mark Philippe Clement’s first as the team’s manager after he took over for Michael Beale in October 2023. With two points separating them at the top of the Scottish Premiership standings, the Gers are poised to qualify for the Champions League, which will adopt a Swiss format the following season. According to Football Insider, Rangers’ summer transfer budget would increase by £20 million if they qualified for the Champions League. Rangers are reportedly looking to sign a new left back because Borna Barisic’s contract is set to expire this summer, and he is expected to depart the team.

The future of Ridvan Yilmaz is also in doubt after he was heavily linked with an exit in the January window. Rangers could also find themselves short in midfield with both Ryan Jack and John Lundstram out of contract in the summer.
