Rangers: Club working with UEFA amid 'concerning' Benfica update

Before their Europa League Round of 16 match against Benfica, Rangers are collaborating with UEFA following some “very aggressive” prior searches at the Estádio da Luz.

On Thursday night, March 7, Philippe Clement and his team will fly to Portugal to play Benfica.

Four Lads Had A Dream shared some advice for travelling supporters on their official X account on March 7, ahead of the European match. This was in response to “serious concerns” that were voiced regarding access to the Estádio da Luz.

According to the article, “Club (Rangers) are working with UEFA and FSE as there have been serious concerns raised with entry to the stadium with some aggressive searches in the past.”

“UEFA has designated two security delegates in this regard, which is highly unusual and demonstrates the seriousness of the situation.”

Because of recent visiting clubs’ problems with entry, Rangers supporters are requested to arrive early and to report any problems straight to the team.

Rangers’ top focus before their match against Benfica is the safety of their supporters.

It’s encouraging to see club executives taking action to keep their supporters out of trouble, even though Clement and the players will be totally focused on the task at hand.

Of course, on-field performance matters, but the safety of away fans should always come first, particularly for those who are flying throughout Europe.
