Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers shared his thoughts after some Celtic fans disrupted the minute’s silence for Remembrance Sunday before their Scottish Premiership game against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.
In the match, goals from Callum McGregor and Nicolas Kuhn helped Celtic secure a win, moving them above Aberdeen at the top of the table on goal difference. Before kickoff, both teams observed a moment of reflection, with Kilmarnock captain Kyle Vassell laying a wreath at midfield. However, some Celtic supporters began booing and singing, causing the referee to cut the silence short.
When asked by Sky Sports about the disruption and whether fans who wanted to observe the silence should have been allowed to, Rodgers responded, “Yes, they should. If it’s a minute’s silence, it’s a minute’s silence.” He acknowledged the recurring issue each year but was pleased with the team’s performance, saying, “Thankfully, we get the win on the football side and go into the break in a good position.”
