The moment of silence had been organized by Kilmarnock officials in honor of Remembrance Sunday, and a message had been played over the stadium’s sound system to encourage fans to observe the tribute. However, loud chanting from Celtic supporters could be heard throughout the intended minute of silence, alongside a banner from the visiting fans highlighting the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict. The banner read: “From Balfour to Starmer. The crimes of the empire live on. Britain is committing genocide in Gaza.”
Crocker expressed regret over the disruption, saying on air, “Sorry if you were offended for the disturbance to the silence.” Despite this, Kilmarnock’s social media post commended their own supporters for observing the silence “impeccably”
