Scotland duo suffer play-off misery as Celtic transfer target lands knock-out blow….

Scotland internationals Ryan Gauld and Stuart Armstrong’s hopes of winning the MLS Playoffs were dashed on Saturday morning, as Vancouver Whitecaps were eliminated by Los Angeles FC.

The teams were tied 1-1 in their best-of-three Western Conference first-round series, with each side having secured a home victory. The deciding match took place at BMO Stadium in LA, where a packed crowd watched the action unfold.

Both Gauld, who has earned four caps for Scotland since September, and Armstrong, who has 51 caps, started for the Whitecaps. Vancouver lined up in a 4-3-2-1 formation, with Gauld playing just behind central striker Brian White, and Armstrong operating in the three-man midfield.
