Alexandro Bernabei transfer latest as ex Premier League star left in awe by ‘diamond’ Kuhn – Celtic news bulletin

Internacional are determined to retain the services of Celtic loanee Alexandro Bernabei, despite the reported £8million price tag placed on the Argentine full-back by Celtic. Bernabei, who joined Celtic from Lanus for £3.8million in 2022, struggled to make an impact under Brendan Rodgers after his first season. He returned to South America in March 2024 on a loan deal to Internacional, where he has since regained form, contributing three goals and three assists in 20 appearances. His performances have even sparked speculation about a potential call-up to Argentina’s national team. Internacional’s executive director, Andre Mazzuco, acknowledged the financial challenges of a permanent move but expressed their intent to negotiate with Celtic.

Meanwhile, former Premier League striker Dean Saunders praised Celtic’s Nicolas Kuhn for his outstanding performance against RB Leipzig in the Champions League. Kuhn scored twice in Celtic’s 3-1 victory, helping the team secure their second win in the group stages. Saunders, who was impressed by Kuhn’s work rate and infectious enthusiasm, named him among his top three standout players in the Champions League, alongside Liverpool’s Luis Diaz and Sporting Lisbon’s Ruben Amorim.
