‘I don’t think’: Chris Sutton reacts to Celtic thrashing Aberdeen 6-0 in Scotti…

Celtic demonstrated their attacking prowess with a commanding 6-0 victory over Aberdeen in the Scottish League Cup semi-final on Saturday at Hampden Park.

The match was highly anticipated, not only for the coveted spot in the League Cup final but also because Celtic and Aberdeen are currently the top two teams in Scotland.

In their previous encounter, Aberdeen managed to claw back from a 2-0 deficit to secure a 2-2 draw at Parkhead. However, this time, Celtic dominated, showcasing why they are the reigning champions under Brendan Rodgers, and leaving Aberdeen struggling to gain any control.

While a Celtic win was expected, particularly after Aberdeen’s midweek triumph over Rangers, the sheer dominance and ruthlessness of their performance surprised many.

Daizen Maeda was the standout performer, netting a brilliant hat-trick, with Cameron Carter-Vickers, Kyogo Furuhashi, and Nicolas Kuhn also adding goals. During the match, Chris Sutton questioned Aberdeen’s performance.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live Sport’s 606, Sutton highlighted that Aberdeen has been the only team keeping pace with Celtic this season. However, the impact of such a heavy defeat on their momentum will be something to observe.

Sutton doesn’t believe Aberdeen’s strong start to the season is over due to this loss but acknowledged that Celtic appears to be growing stronger, and he’s curious to see how Aberdeen will respond.

Celtic now shifts focus to the Champions League with a home fixture against RB Leipzig, following their draw with Atalanta. Aberdeen, meanwhile, will look to regroup ahead of their next Scottish Premiership match.

In upcoming league fixtures, Celtic will face Kilmarnock, Hearts, and Ross County, while Aberdeen will take on Dundee, St. Mirren, and Hibernian. Their next meeting with Celtic is set for December 4.
