“Fans Protest Outside Anfield Ahead of Liverpool vs. Brighton Clash”

Supporters of Liverpool FC, led by the fan group Spirit of Shankly, are staging a protest outside Anfield before the Premier League match against Brighton & Hove Albion. This demonstration is part of a broader campaign across the league, initiated by the Football Supporters’ Association, called “Stop Exploiting Loyalty.” The protest is aimed at addressing increased ticket prices implemented by 19 of the 20 top-flight clubs, including Liverpool, which raised prices by 2% over the summer. The Spirit of Shankly group is collaborating with Fans Supporting Foodbanks and the Brighton fan magazine Dogma in this initiative.

Liverpool had previously faced backlash from supporters in March when they announced the ticket price increase. In response, the Spion Kop 1906 group, responsible for matchday flags and banners, organized a ‘blackout’ during a Europa League game, resulting in a noticeably subdued atmosphere at Anfield.
