Catch all the latest updates ahead of Brighton’s Premier League game against Liverpool.
Brighton’s standout winger, Yankuba Minteh, will likely miss his third consecutive Premier League game due to a muscle injury.
At 20, Minteh has been out since sustaining the injury with Gambia’s national team, missing Brighton’s 1-0 victory over Newcastle and their recent 2-2 draw with Wolves. The setback will prevent him from showcasing his talents against his former manager, Arne Slot, at Anfield.
Brighton’s £30 million summer signing is progressing in training, but Saturday’s game comes too soon. “He’s an important player, but we can’t take any risk with him,” said Albion’s manager, Fabian Hurzeler.
Despite last Wednesday’s 3-2 Carabao Cup loss to Liverpool, Hurzeler remains optimistic about Saturday’s clash and sees it as an opportunity to measure his team’s progress. Brighton, currently sixth, will then face reigning champions Manchester City at the Amex next weekend.
