Liverpool are contending with several injuries as they prepare to face Brighton on Saturday. After defeating Brighton 3-2 in the Carabao Cup with a heavily rotated squad, Liverpool will likely field a stronger lineup for this Premier League encounter. However, key players will still be absent.
Federico Chiesa, who has managed just 78 minutes since his summer move from Juventus, remains sidelined. In his pre-match press conference, manager Arne Slot provided an update on Chiesa’s return, indicating that he is expected to rejoin after the November international break. Chiesa, who joined Liverpool for £12m, has been dealing with a long-term issue that has kept him out since September.
Slot noted, “Chiesa is not back before the international break, but that’s only a week to go. We’re hoping he can start training over the break and join us afterward.” Alongside Chiesa, Harvey Elliott, Diogo Jota, and Alisson Becker are also ruled out until after the break.
Although Liverpool’s busy schedule increases the risk of additional injuries, Slot confirmed that no new issues have emerged. While they would prefer a full squad, Liverpool remains hopeful for a healthy roster as they approach the Christmas period.
