‘Everybody could see’: Arne Slot says Liverpool youngster looked so ‘comfortable’ on the ball against Brighton….

Vitezslav Jaros made his first full appearance for Liverpool in the Carabao Cup against Brighton & Hove Albion, helping secure a 3-2 victory on the road.

In a heavily rotated lineup, Jaros took his place in goal and faced a lively second half at the Amex Stadium, as Liverpool progressed to a quarterfinal showdown with Southampton. Liverpool supporters commended Jaros for his debut performance, stepping in for Caoimhin Kelleher.

Manager Arne Slot offered his thoughts on the Czech goalkeeper’s solid outing against a challenging Brighton team.

Slot was particularly impressed with Jaros’ full debut for Liverpool.

In the first half, Jaros made a standout save against Tariq Lamptey and continued his excellent form after the break, thwarting Simon Adingra late in the game. Although he conceded two goals to these players, they were largely unavoidable, and Jaros maintained a strong presence on his Liverpool debut.

Slot praised Jaros’ critical saves and highlighted his composure with the ball at his feet, remarking on the young keeper’s decisions in distribution.

“Everyone could see how crucial his saves were,” Slot said during the post-match press conference.

“The first major chance went to them, where he saved a one-on-one. Then, in the second half, he made one or two more important stops.

“Additionally, he looked very comfortable with the ball at his feet, making smart choices—whether to play short or go long toward the striker. And the quality of Jarell Quansah and Joe Gomez in the build-up was also a huge asset. That triangle worked well in possession today.”

Pundit Lee Hendrie also praised Jaros’ display, noting it as one of the highlights of his senior career so far. Here are some of his key stats from the match:

– 5 saves (4 from inside the box)
– 1 successful long ball
– 2 clearances
– 47 touches
– 63% passing accuracy (24 out of 39 passes completed)

Jaros impressed in his first start for Liverpool, and it’s yet to be seen if he’ll retain his position in the Carabao Cup lineup as Liverpool heads to St Mary’s for the quarterfinal clash with Southampton in mid-December.
