‘We have issues’– Fabian Hurzeler reacts to January transfer window question after latest injury blow….

Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler currently has no intention of entering the January transfer market, despite the recent injury setback to captain Lewis Dunk.

The Seagulls face challenges in central defense, with Dunk sidelined by a calf injury picked up before the Wolves game, adding to the absence of fellow defender Adam Webster, who is dealing with a hamstring issue.

Jan Paul van Hecke, who just returned from a groin injury, is expected to join Brazilian defender Igor Julio in central defense for the upcoming matches against Liverpool and Manchester City at the Amex Stadium on November 9. Brighton hopes that Van Hecke stays fit during this demanding stretch. If needed, Joel Veltman, typically a right-back, can step in as a central defender.

Hurzeler, who had considered signing experienced German defender Mats Hummels in the summer, commented: “We do have some center-back issues, but Lewis will return shortly, and Adam is likely to recover sooner than anticipated. With four central defenders capable of handling Premier League matches, I don’t believe there’s a need to sign additional players in this position.”
