Aaron Rodgers is leaning into a unique recovery approach in his 20th NFL season, trying to keep himself in playing shape with some help from veteran punter Thomas Morstead’s unconventional suggestion: cayenne pepper and water. According to Rodgers, this simple concoction has left him feeling “pretty good” despite the Jets’ bumpy 2–6 start.
Rodgers acknowledged he wasn’t at his peak in the Jets’ recent 25–22 loss to the Patriots, where he managed 233 yards and two touchdowns but was criticized for lacking mobility. Patriots defensive tackle Davon Godchaux even remarked that Rodgers “doesn’t look the same.” But Rodgers remains optimistic, saying he’s in constant rehab and hoping to be more agile against the Houston Texans on Thursday night.
The cayenne pepper and water trick might seem a bit out of the box, but given Rodgers’ open-mindedness toward different methods of wellness—whether mushrooms or darkness retreats—it fits his unique approach to health and longevity in the league
