Adam Idah’s fitness is uncertain following a reckless tackle during Celtic’s 3-0 victory over Motherwell. The Irish forward, who had scored earlier in the match, was subjected to a tough challenge from Motherwell defender Liam Gordon, resulting in a straight red card for Gordon after a VAR review.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers confirmed in his Tuesday press conference that Idah has been sent for a scan to assess the extent of the injury. Although initial examinations have placed Idah in a protective boot, Rodgers stated that they won’t know the full recovery timeline until scan results are available.
If Idah is sidelined, it would be a significant setback for Celtic amid a busy schedule. With a cup semi-final this weekend and a crucial Champions League clash against Leipzig looming, Idah’s absence could leave a gap in Celtic’s attack. Rodgers will be hoping for good news, as the team would be left with fewer options up front, placing greater responsibility on Kyogo to lead the attack.
