Celtic’s win over Motherwell last weekend highlighted Lennon Miller’s emergence as one of Scottish football’s brightest young prospects, as well as the Bhoys’ clinical form at Fir Park.
The Bhoys coasted to victory against the Steelmen with goals from Luke McCowan, Alistair Johnston, and Adam Idah, although they faced a couple of early threats when Motherwell hit the woodwork twice.
Motherwell’s Lennon Miller was behind both near-misses, first hitting the post from range after a Celtic error, and later seeing his free-kick bounce off the bar.
The idea that the 18-year-old might choose to continue his development at Celtic Park isn’t new; several figures in Scottish football have speculated about it for months.
Adding to this, Peter Grant believes Miller could easily succeed at Celtic if he ever moved to Glasgow. While there are no solid reports suggesting this, his continued progress naturally fuels speculation.
Former Celtic player Tam McManus also commented on Miller’s potential, suggesting that Brendan Rodgers might consider a substantial offer for the young talent after Sunday’s performance.
Speaking on PLZ Soccer, McManus suggested Celtic might approach Motherwell with an offer, noting, “I watched him closely for the first 25 minutes; his positioning, skill on the ball, and shots off the post and bar were impressive. At 18, he’s one of the best young talents I’ve seen in some time. Motherwell could make a fortune on him, and they’ll want to keep him as long as possible.”
On Celtic’s potential interest, McManus added, “If you’re Celtic, you go in and ask Motherwell how much they want for him. Even if they buy him and loan him back for a season, he’s a fantastic player with the right attitude.”
For Celtic fans, Miller is already on the radar as a genuine talent, and his stats in the Scottish Premiership confirm the excitement around him. Fotmob shows he has created 20 chances, completed nine successful dribbles, and taken 30 touches in the opponent’s box, demonstrating his ability to break through defensive lines.
As a homegrown player, Miller would also support squad registration for Champions League play. Most importantly, he would bring long-term value to Celtic as a high-potential asset.
