Pittsburgh Steelers rookie wide receiver Roman Wilson is expected to miss another game due to a hamstring injury. Wilson was sidelined against the New York Jets after being limited in practice, and he has now missed two consecutive practice days following a re-aggravation of his hamstring during Wednesday’s session.
With Wilson’s absence likely, the Steelers may consider elevating wide receiver Brandon Johnson from the practice squad. Johnson, who played ten snaps against the Jets, has one elevation left before he would need to be added permanently to the 53-man roster.
Wilson initially missed the season’s first five weeks due to a high ankle sprain sustained in training camp. This latest setback raises concerns about his potential role in the lineup this season, as he has seen limited action both on game days and in practice.
